The Police in Anambra says it has arrested 151 suspected criminals and cultists following raids on legal hideouts within the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra State Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, made this recognized in an announcement issued on Tuesday in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
According to him, the police raid passed off between April 1 and April 16, 2019, and the command recovered weapons and substances suspected to be hashish sativa.
The Police PRO mentioned; “Between April 1 and April 16, the State Command has arrested 151 suspected cultists from numerous elements of the state.
“We arrested 16 suspected cultists at Okija, 12 arrested at Nanka, 11 suspects at Nkwelle and 9 arrested at Ogidi space.
“Our males equally arrested eight suspects in Awka, 14 suspects from Ajali /Oko, 18 suspects had been additionally caught from Enugwu Ukwu /Nimo/Nise, 12 suspects arrested at Fegge/Awada.
The command additionally arrested 13 suspects from Inland Town in Onitsha, seven from Achalla, 4 suspects from Urum and three from Ogbunike whereas 15 had been arrested at Amawbia and 9 from Ukwulu /Ukpo respectively,” he added.
